It was learnt that Aaron, an indigene of Afaha Abia town, in the Nsit Ibom Local Government Area of the state, on September 14, covered her one-day child alive.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Gabriel Achong, said amid a question and answer session in Uyo on Thursday that the child was saved alive almost five hours after she had been covered.
"The state police criminologist on September14, 2014 captured one Patience Aaron of Afaha Abia town in the Nsit Ibom LGA for endeavoring to execute the child young lady she brought forth.
"Tolerance covered her one-day-old child in a shallow grave. The infant was saved alive. Examination is in advancement," he said.
The CP, on the other hand, included that it was found that Aaron was sick and had been taken to a healing center
